1st Asia-Pacific Water Summit, Beppu, Oita, Japan 2007

The 1st Asia-Pacific Water Summit, under the theme “Water Security: Leadership and Commitment,” was held in Beppu City, Oita Prefecture in Japan. Targeting decision-makers in the region, the 1st APWS brought together top-level leaders from various sectors including industry, public, education, local organizations and media from 56 countries. It is deemed the first ever Water Summit to be convened in the world and was attended by more-high level dignitaries than any other water meetings then.
